good info but horribly delivered. random noise, poor video's, unwanted delays....
Really informative. Thank you I had this done. It is Amazing and I'm walking no cane. I took my dogs on a 5 mile hike after my replacement 4/10/24. It's been almost 5 weeks. Just Amazing!!!!!!
Second hand smoke when there are no windows open, exposing everyone in the house to cigarette smoke is the first step. Especially to developing children.
My shaking would start a hour before job interviews. Topomax made me walk out of a job interview. I was half way home before I realized they didn't ask me to leave.
I do wish I'd seen this 8 years ago. I've had bad headaches most of my life. Almost 80 now. A few years ago I began to get interested in vitamin D3. My daily headaches have all but gone. Still get a few migraine with vision disturbance. Also my chronic sinusitis and asthma have cleared up. I was on cpap but discontinued it thanks to the Philips foam debacle when I found I didn’t need it. All I do for sleep is to lightly tape my mouth closed. The section on aura was interesting. Mine first started age 40. Time to traverse my vision field around 15 to twenty minutes.
Thank You Doctor… I had my right leg THP done in 2008..Since than it was pain freed. Now recently I feel pain while sitting on the chair even half an hour, walking still no problem. .Is it right time to make reversion or any suggestions please. I am now 80..Thank You again Doctor..
What if someone's had a T4 S1 fusion then developed bone on bone OA would that be a possible candidate
Oh my God I want to do mine and be 100% comfortable would you perform in my surgery
I just had my left hip replaced just like the the video demonstrates and it definitely makes a world of difference from when I had my right hip replaced, the doctor did that one the old way by cutting the muscle.
Can anyone recommend a great surgeon that does anterior approach hip surgeries in Hawaii?
I'm 73, I have been having hip pain for almost 3 years, I've had injections 3 times, but since I was told this thins the bone, I don't want anymore. I've been taking glucosamine and MSM for over two months I can tell a great difference in pain, but there are days I still hurt... But not as bad. I'm considering getting this done soon doing exercises for my hip to try and strengthen before hand. If you have any suggestions on what I have been doing, or anything else I should do please let me know. Thank you
We ae not eating too many hamburgers, we are eating too much wheat which has been stripped and yes if you read orthomolecular articles about B5 and all b vitamins have talked about the fact that B5 is synthesized by the bacterial flora in the intestines.
I take Effexor XR 😮 for migraines. It works well but not 100%. But I had headaches everyday without it. I live on the east coast and every October the headaches come back. My cycle of headaches are aura sometimes, headache, then I feel like I was hit in the head with a bat 3 days ago. The initial pain is gone but it hurts to concentrate, think, move my eyes, and that can last for days to weeks. Until the cycle started all over again. If I stop the Effexor I get a headache instantly, brain zaps, like concussion syndrome. Effexor has been a god send but not a cure. Effexor’s constipation side effect lasted about two weeks. OMG like passing concrete with rebar in it. And I sweat like Ric Flair in a cage match.
Take D!!
I just turned 30 and right before that I had a total hip replacement surgery and was back at work 2 days later. 4 weeks since and I can walk with no support. Good'ol Avascular necrosis 😂
WOW 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
Wow!! Not talked about but part of lack of REM cycle is psychosis, delusions and hallucinations . Pattern i see in Loved One is inability to unwind ( cortisol excess? Adrenal excess? Pituatary gland in excess on 4 chemicals) and unable to sleep. Also connection to night workers and mental deterioration.
I loved the movie, Fnaf is the best
Thank you bro!! appreciate it
I had hip replacement 9 days ago and I feel great! Very little discomfort could walk with limited pain! Highly recommend
How long was the surgery procedure?
@@demetricchapman460 it took 6 hours
Pain was a ten, UA-camd exercised my muscles by stretching my legs. Job duties changed from 10 miles to 4 miles walking and pain is minimal now.
i CANT STAND THIS GUY
SUPER BRUTAL PROCEDURE. NO THANKS.
Hi really good explanation, l had hip surgery 5 months ago my hip had crumbled in my leg , there was now hip & lotts of arthritis, lam walking & doing excersizes 2 x a day but still have discomfort in top right buttock , the surgeon said this was not the normal opp , ,soo is this a long haul, or am l doing something wrong 🌹😌
How do you avoid damaging the Lateral Cutaneous Nerves when performing the Direct Anterior Approach??
Well if 18 hours of childbirth is a 10, then my hip has been at a 25 for over a year!😢 Got my hip done 5 days ago so it's pretty tender
How’s it feeling now? I’m getting one in December
@@demetricchapman460 it's way better now. Doing the daily exercises and even went shopping this week. Haven't done that in over a year 😊 It's been 4 weeks since surgery. The first few weeks were hard to sleep and nobody told me that I wouldn't be able to put my own shoes on! Just take it slow. Good luck and speedy recovery 💥
@@curiouskitty7972 awesome that you’re doing great I go in on 12/11 Thank you for the reply Are you using a walker or a cane at the moment?
Interesting thanks for the education.
Osteo & rheumatoid arthritis is mentioned, but not my particular brand of autoimmune malady: psoriatic. My imaging shows necrosis as well, so wonder how that affects hip replacement.

My left hips replacement July 2021 and my right hips replacement march 2023 so 3 weeks ago,I had a little pain but fast to recovery and now I’m feeling much more comfortable in my right hip so it’s been great for my surgeon 👨⚕️ here in China,I’m watching your videos because they are really good to explanation, thank you so much ❤️
Excellent information, Unfortunately in the UK we don't have a choice my hip op will be posterior but if I had the money I would go for the anterior approach
Thanks a lot for not being a phoney physician hanging from a shity doctrine Madame... Thanks a lot for your hard work and proper cares and attentions ...You're already blessed and you deserve nothing less than all the best 🙏🙏🙏...
I had a total left hip replacement done in May 2019, posterior. It has been a nightmare from day one after the surgery. I could walk before surgery, now have to use a walker. I can hardly lift my foot or leg up from the floor more than an inch. Range of motion is very limited. Very difficult to bend my leg to get in and out of a car. I have seen 9 Orthopedic Dr.’s & every test imaginable to determine what is the matter. I have not gotten an answer, except I don’t know what the matter is, go see someone else. I also have more orthopedic issues that complicate my case. I had my spine totally fused ( from my neck to my tailbone)in 2013. Because if this I go to hip Dr.’s & they tell me it is a spine issue, I go to spine surgeons they tell me it’s a hip problem. I keep being passed from one dr. to the next like a football without any help. I am in horrific pain, have been seeing a pain special for almost 10 years. I am in high dose of a Fentanyl Patch. In these years my right hip needs replacing too, but with the outcome from my left hip replacement, this is the last thing I want to do. If there is anyone who could help me get my life back, I would be so grateful. Thank you for any help. C
The generic pain meds don’t work. The good stuff will make u forget all about that pain.
Interesting, however, he never mentioned any possible side effects of going in on anterior plane. Possible nerve damage, possible prescribing of Gabapentin. Side affects of Gabapentin, etc.
OMG that was the best thing ever. I am having hip surgery next month with that Mako computer being used. So cool to see thanks
Dr Scott this is wade devinney in arkansas. I ran across your article as I'm about to have hip surgery. My great uncle was turn devinney. Wonder if we might be kin. Have a good day
Bone is not hollow , it has space which is filled with marrow and other goodies , it’s hollow once you pound that stem in lol
I took a micronutrient test from a company in Texas. It showed I was deficient in b5, b2, vit D, and b6 while borderline deficient in a few others. They recommended I supplement with 1000mg of b5 b.I.d. My sleep is not great but much better. Apparently, we all need different amounts. If you gave a stressful life your b5 gets used up significantly. I’m gonna retest in a few months to see if things have improved. Everyone needs to get a test before supplementing.
B5 is needed by adrenal glands
Having my anterior total hip replacement surgery may 4th....this video has been very helpful. Thanks
Kindly share your prognosis after surgery
Too much b6 causes pain, its unknown and not well-researched. I have experienced this with clients= you can blood test for this and the client will show high b6. Hard to detox
Need to be on calcium with Prolia. I was on it Prolia gor two years then X-ray showed density went worse and calcium went to aorta of heart and aneurism I went on
I'm 70 years old am I a viable candidate for hip surgery??? I live in Tacoma Washington
Thanks so much Dr 🙏, May God Bless and keep you always 🙏 ❤️
She mentions b vitamins but doesn't mention some people can't metabolize B12 and folic acid these people need to take methyl b and methyl folic acid
She mentions 2,000 the minimum is 5,000 a day ..even 10,000.. and 60 to 80 is not high..she should shoot for 100 to 120 for level of d
Superb lecture!
